Last to get Spydus!

Hi Lorraine

Go0d for you .... on dragging me into this century. I'm a cadet blogger now. I don't know how much help I will be with Spydus...as WBIT will be one of the last Institutes to come online. Our training starts 29 January 2008 ... so maybe you will be able to be my mentor this time. I feel a little like you...I always deal with issues as they arise. I don't assume there will be any obstacles.

My counterpart at the Cooloola Public Library does not like Spydus for serials. She much preferred Libero. Ugh! She was very generous in telling me to ring her anytime if I needed assistance. No doubt about "library networks", eh! Always help when you need it!

Will be off the air from September 20 ... LSL calls. But I will certainly take advantage of TAFE SERIAL CENTRAL when I return.

Cheers

Cherie

New serials blog

Hi Lorraine,
Congratulations for setting up this blog. I think it is a terrific idea and I hope that everyone will contribute.

Seven and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners

The Easiest
I think the easiest of these habits for me would have to be "View Problems as Challenges" as over the past 12 months undertaking a new job role has been a series of problems which I have had to sort out. Once I decided that each of these problems was not unsolveable I began to view each succeeding one as a challenge which I knew I would be able to solve in time.
I can use this realization as I work through the 23 things and move forward with my online learning development.

Most difficult
The most difficult I think for me would have to be "Use technology to your advantage". I think in the past I have always looked on the use of technology and its new possibilities as being just too difficult and too time consuming and therefore have not used it to its full capacity to help and reduce my workload.
I have not taken advantage of training offered at times as I have been "too busy" - this cannot be an excuse anymore as I must keep us with the times and changes happening around me including technology to be most effective in my job role.

Preparing for Spydus - serials information transfer

Hi to all you serials people.
I'd like us all to get to know each other so that we can form a strong network whereby we can share information, knowledge and help each other over this transitional period.
I am hoping this networking will then continue and that we can form strong ties for exchange of ideas and information.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Lorraine
